so would god spew newton from his mouth?
haha, thats cool. in a way, GOD did spew newton from his mouth, as he did all of us. and the other side, newtonian physics have been spewed from "truths" mouth by relativity and quantum mechanics, woo hoo. looks like both god and truth have drinking problems

i have a suggestion. i have been reading gensis and i thought it would be cool to pick a book in the bible and we could all read it and then use a blogg to write quotes we like and different parts we think are important. what other thoughts they relate to and so on. the bible has such a large influence on the rest of literature that i think the discussions would easily branch out to other things, maybe even back to gambling. what do you all think? maybe do the first five books, the pentatuch (sp?) and then mark or something like that. MJ, are you still reading these?
some interesting web reading: i really like the ted rall articles you forward H, this guy is in the same area as rall but his site has alot of writing by other people from other new papers. he has a piece by susan sontag, which i quoted from below, and i think the page is worth keeping tabs on. here it is

the other thing is paul collins and the collins library. dont know if any of you have seen this guy on mcsweeneys but he is amazing. he is publishing old books that have not been printed in a while. they have to be someything he likes though. he has written a memoir also which looks really interesting. i am going to try and look into him some more. will report more.

I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

How things really are --- and always will be --- is neither all-evil nor all-good but deficient, inconsistent, inferior.

Were Einstein, Newton Austistic?
Reuters - 2 hours, 32 minutes ago
Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton were geniuses but British scientists believe they may have suffered from Asperger syndrome -- a form of autism.
"Newton seems a classic case. He hardly spoke, was so engrossed in his work that he often forgot to eat, and was lukewarm or bad-tempered with the few friends he had," New Scientist magazine said on Wednesday.
H says: Apparently being engrossed in your work makes you autistic now.

Harpring hit a crucial fadeaway three and got badly fouled, with about 2 minutes left in the game. He catches his balance but stumbles into Porter, now an assistant coach for Sac. He bumps Porter, who falls a little and then sticks out his elbow in an attempt to bow Harp in the face. Harp hustles back on D, yelling at Porter the whole time, who yells back. Stoppage of play-- Harp gets in Porter's face, who looks like he wants to fight. Thoroughly entertaining. Almost made me want to bet on the old jazzers. Btw, have you seen this team??? They are the biggest collection of goofs ever-- Malone, Stockton, Harp, the walking stickman Kirilenko, Ostertag-- 4 weird white dudes and the Mailman.

Yeah! Cursing fig trees and flippin tables.
What book was that from? Luke?
Bourbon I am disagreeing with you on both counts here. Way off on Anna P (although she seems to be a good actress), and I like Harpring, who is very non-Ostertagish. He brings some life to Utah-- did you see when Terry Porter elbowed him?
On second thought, Rob, I agree (Anna's teeth are messed up though). Good Call!:

here he throws the table. with the fig story surrounding the table throwing i'd have to say this is one of my favorite parts of the new testament. maybe the best part. the old testament is much better though. anything in samuel I or II is better.
12: And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
13: And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
14: And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
15: And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
16: And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
17: And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
18: And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
19: And when even was come, he went out of the city.
20: And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
21: And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
22: And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23: For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

What up fellas, Hit the indian casino 2 hours from here Sat. afternoon. Excellent rules-- they even had late surrender. Anyway, I hit a super hot shoe-- the running count was actually +24 at one point-- and had 2 bets of 40 out there. Doubled one of them, $120 on the table... get the face on the double, and push the other one. Ended up +400 for the 3 hour session, and I was even betting conservatively (spreading from 10 to two hands of 40). I'll take that any day... I was unsure about the count a couple times but I think I was dead on most of the time. Also, the dealers there keep there tips so you might be able to get them to cut the deck deeper.
In Sportsbook, the Philly game killed me. Matt joined me and we had twin $50s down on Philly -2 at NO. Didn't see the game, but obviously Alley I didn't come through. Also lost $25 on Detroit today (no more bets against McGrady for me), but the good old bet-against-LA-with-a-big-spread came through, so I won 50 on their 8.5 spread against Minnesota. So that puts me down $75 going into the Spurs game tonight...
We would have an excellent gambling team if we lived in the same area. Probably wouldn't have much of a bankroll though :)
